Start Right With a Good Set of DIY Firewood Storage Shed Plans
After I bought a home that has a huge wood burning stove in the den, I realized I needed to get a good set of firewood storage shed plans. I wanted to build a shed that would enable me to store an ample supply of wood that's ready to burn. I also wanted to store a supply of wood that's aging for use during future winters.
I went on the Internet and found a great set of firewood storage shed plans. I also spoke to a neighbor who filled me in on where I could stock up on firewood when the time was right.
Actually, tracking down a wood supply was quite easy. Quite a few local landscapers and tree removal contractors maintain a huge wood inventory. They're available to deliver one or two cords at a moments notice. Also, other firewood suppliers run ads in our local newspaper.
I knew I needed to build an efficient storage shed for my firewood prior to putting in a supply for the winter. When we were still living in our previous house, which had a very nice fireplace, I made the mistake of stacking firewood outside on the ground.
I had a tough time getting to the wood after a few snow storms. And all the logs on the bottom wound up wet and rotted.
That's the main reason why I really wanted to build a nice, convenient firewood storage shed.
After I received my set of building plans for my storage shed -- which included a detailed materials list -- I took them to one of the big home supply/renovation outlets. They gave me a quote for everything I needed. I also took the same list to a local lumber yard. They beat the price by 10 percent and threw in free delivery with my order.
The storage shed I'd decided to build has three walls and a roof. The floor is constructed out of cinder blocks stacked over plastic sheathing which is very effective at keeping moisture from seeping up into the structure.
I load the shed so half the space is filled with aged logs that are ready to burn. The remaining space contains more recently cut timber.
I stack the wood in a manner where I can pack in as much as possible. But I leave enough space between the logs to allow good airflow. I put in a second supply of wood right near the end of winter so it can season for a few months and is ready to burn when winter arrives.
My first recommendation to anyone who has a fireplace or wood burning stove and needs an appropriate place to keep wood is that you should build a firewood storage shed. It will keep your firewood clean and dry and easily accessible.
My second recommendation is that you get a good set of building plans you can use to build your woodshed. Having a detailed set of blueprints and building plans for any woodworking project will save you a huge amount of time and money.
And, when you're ready to build your storage shed, shop around to get the best price on construction materials. Bring your plans and materials to a few lumber yards and renovation centers for quotes.
When you're finished, you can really enjoy many nice fires in the hearth.

What is the best fairway wood in golf right now that is between 100 and 200 dollars?
I am a 5 handicap that plays everyday and my old 5 wood wore out...any ideas for a new one. I am looking for a higher ball flight also.
If you are truly a 5 handicap as you claim, there is no need to be asking a total stranger which 5 wood to purchase. A person who knows his game and is familiar with all the other clubs in his bag will look to purchasing one with similar feel, weight and shaft flex as the balance of his woods.
