GolfLogix GPS works well after software update

5.0 / 5.0

I bought a GolfLogix GPS, based on positive reviews. Initially, I downloaded only my home course (for free) to test the unit. It worked quite well, although there were a few glitches, which I fixed with a reset.

I then subscibed to the download service and downloaded a number of course in preparation for a golf outing to the US mainland. (I live in Hawaii). On the first course the unit failed miserably, giving me a yardage of 980 yards off the first tee. I could not even turn the unit off without removing one of the batteries. The same thing happened on three other courses in California. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and upset.

When I returned to Hawaii, I contacted GolfLogix Customer Support. They analyzed the problem as having something to do with my Windows XP. They gave me a number to call to have a technician walk me through the process of installing a software update. The technician was competent and patient. After the fix, the unit has been working flawlessly on my home course. I can't wait to take it on another trip to the mainland.

Happy User.

It helps out when those yard markers are never easy to find. Also, you can check out how long your drives are.

I did not like the idea that I had to spend $29.99 to add another 19 courses to my GPS. All the the courses should already be downloaded in the GPS. As is the case with other Garmin products. Had I known this before hand, I would have spent the extra dollars for another product.

It Works!

4.0 / 5.0

Works as advertised, worth the money,
Amazing how many times it is significantly different than markers indicate.

How Modern Technology Of Golf Training Aids Increase Your Skills On The Golf Course October 12th, 2008 by Subscribe To Our Feed Golf Training Aids There was a time when not many devices were available when it came to golf training and improvement. It seemed that for awhile the only thing on the market was the simple little putting trainers that would send the golf ball back to you if you managed to putt across the carpet and get the ball into the device. These days,
