Great Clubs Mizuno Mx 200 Irons
First round with new sticks shot 91 (slope 132). Went to the range a couple of times then two weeks later second round at a different course shot 83 (slope 130). One week after that, (actually two days previous to this writing), at another course shot 82 (slope 130). What has changed was a small amount of increased difference in length from precious irons, which is always a nice bonus, a good amount of difference in length with the new Adams hybrids, even mis-hits feel good, but most important was straighter shots where previous Mizuno Mx 200 Irons had a tendency to go left, with almost no distance loss even with thin hits because the irons still produced great elevation and good stopping on greens. When hit "sweet" they added about 7 yards. My goal is to shoot 80 and I am very excited that I can see that happening in the near future. Bottom line is I can highly recommend two things… get fitted for your clubs and definitely try the Mizuno MX200 irons, and if you're like me and can't hit the longer irons check yourself out on the Adams A7OS hybrids. FYI: I'm 68 years old with fairly good flexibility and play about once a week if I can. Average distance from the tee 245-260. Average 7 iron 150-155. Hope that helps anyone thinking about some new "arrows".
All of these irons are good, during many rounds of golf I have hit a great shot with every single one of these iron sets. With a good lie, and a good look, I could hit any one of these sets' 9 irons a few feet from the pin. However, none felt like they were 100% "me". Until I came upon these MX-200's, they just have this beautiful feel you get from a forged iron, it's so amazing and pure and buttery and great. Yet these irons are also forgiving enough for most players. (beginners are probably going to still need to look for a wider soled, super game improvement iron) Distance is fine, no better, no worse then most leading iron brands, but with irons, that's usually not the most important factor.
YOU might find some other irons better, My best golfing buddy that I play with 3 times a week loves his Callaway's, another buddy swears by his Bridgestones, and another loves his Titleist's. But at the end of the day, we all play about the same number. For me the MX200's are the winner! It's the first time in a while that I dont "look" at other iron sets when I walk into a golf shop. Or get the urge to hit a new cool iron set in the simulator. Now I just check out the new hybrids and wedges.
My other favorite irons in order from best to worst are, new 2010 Macgregor m85 Tourney, Titleist AP1 710's, Ping i15's, Cleveland golds……
Try every iron set out there before you buy, eventually you will find your Mizuno Mx 200 Irons . Good luck in your hunt for your new irons.
Unlike with the Calloway's, I got professionally fitted which definitely makes a difference- the analysis of my swing and clubs indicated that the lie was a little too flat, explaining why so many of my shots pushed left (I am left-handed) even on what felt like a perfect swing.
I have played the 200's for about four rounds now and absolutely love them. I have never hit a straighter or more consistent ball- particularly with my mid-irons 6-8. I got them adjusted +2 degrees on the lie (Mizuno is known to be a flatter club and I have a very upright swing) and paired them with the KBS FST shafts-stiff flex. Amazing combination. Despite the club weight being notably heavier than my X-18's, the balance is perfect and I have the confidence to release fully. The ball flight is medium-high; very similar to the X-18 but more consistent, and a bit further.
I view the Calloway irons as excellent clubs, and suspect I would have played much better with them had I been fitted. But I cannot say enough about the feel of these Mizuno irons- great clubs. And they are gorgeous as well.
Also i am very happy that i get this irons in the incredibible price which is only $399.99.Find the clubs you want on Cheap Golf Store

I was given an old MacGregor Tourney IMG-5 putter..what's it worth?
On the bottom it reads IMG-5 Iron Master..thanks..
For many of the 1940-1980 collectable clubs the value has dropped since the technology has improved so much in the current clubs. Wedges and putters from this era have retained some of their value but it looks as if those are dropping off. Go to Ebay and do a seach for "Iron master putter" and you will see 5-7 putters that are similar to the one you describe. The bettter condition the more value.
Hope this helps.
