Using The Best Golf Grips To Eliminate Strokes
Having a good grip on the golf club is the secret to eliminating strokes. However, many people overlook such a simple problem.
A recent study showed that most golfers preferred using Golf Pride Grips.
But which grip are really the best?
We put them all to the test:
Golf Pride New Decade: Rating * * * * *
With a rating of five stars, The Golf Pride New Decade Grips were voted as the best golf grips. Not only did these grips outperform the others in performance, but also in longevity. With a retail price in the range of $7.99, these grips lasted twice as long as the competitors. The combination of rubber and cord allows for an enhanced feel and superb traction on the lower portion.
Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord: Rating * * * *
For the best in traction, the golf pride tour velvet cords are for you. In the same price range of the New Decades, the Tour Velvets offer golfers a grip one step above the New Decades. Although they offer a better grip, this does not mean they are preferred over a rubber-cord compound. A full cord grip can be very beneficial in wet conditions, but overly responsive in dry conditions.
Winn X-Treme Texture: Rating * * * *
If you have a problem with over-gripping the golf club, these are the grips for you. A four star rating puts these grips near the top of the list for the best golf grips to eliminate strokes. Winn grips offer an enhanced grip and a thicker body. This allows golfers to reduce the amount of tension put forth on the club. Reduced forearm tension leads to straighter shots.
Lamkin Crossline: Rating * * * *
For a combination of the Winn X-treme and the Golf Pride Tour Velvet, the result is the Lamkin Crossline Full Cord. These grips offer exceptional gripping ability and remarkable traction in wet conditions. Although not as appealing as the Winn's or Golf Pride's, these grips perform just as well. In the price range of $6.99, they are well worth the expense.
Black Widow Tour Silk: Rating * * * * *
As the name implies, the Black Widow Tour Silks are soft to the touch and deadly on the course. Don't let the price fool you. Although they may wear out faster than the Golf Pride Grips, the tour silks are perfect for dry conditions. Small striations in the grips allow for the prevention of slipping.
Quick Grip: Rating * * * * *
In addition to purchasing grips that fit your game, you should also be using a grip enhancer. There are no grips on the market offering reduced moisture in hot conditions. Quick Grip eliminates moisture on your hands and grips. Moisture reduction prevents the club from slipping and ultimately allows you to make better ball contact.
To lower your stroke out on the course, use Golf Grips that are suited to your style of play. If you over-grip the club, use a softer grip. If you are having trouble with your lower hand releasing, go for the Golf Pride Compounds. And remember, always use a grip enhancer to reduce moisture.

Golf Pride vs. Lamkin Golf Grips...?
I have Cleveland Launcher 09, the grips are getting torn up and I am planning to get some new ones. I cannot decide between Golf Pride Tour Wrap NG white grips or Lamkin Crossline grips... Which grip is better for me to get?
I definitely go with the Lamkin Crossline. I've played with all kinds of grips and the value for your money on the crosslines cannot be beat.
I pay about $3.50 a grip for them at my local golf galaxy and they will last for at least 3 seasons if you take care of them (cleaning with soap and water and a scrub brush every few weeks)
Here's a pic of mine (the three iron was not used, therefore I did not regrip it)

Also, in my experience the golf pride grips wear out too fast, get slippery, I HATE slippery grips!
EDIT - I also turn mine "label down" .... that's the way Annika used to do it!!

EDIT 2 - Here's a reputable place to buy the Crosslines for $3.60 a grip:
